Sometimes I have such a hard time believing that I'm the mother of a kindergartener. It's crazy, really.
Madeline has grown so much over this last six months of kindergarten. Sure, she's grown in height, but she's really grown as a little person. She loves to write and make sentences. She gets so excited talking about the things she's learned that day when we spend family time together in the evening, before bed. It's so fun to watch.
The first school carnival - of many in our future - was yesterday, and Madeline couldn't stop talking about it. The weather was crappy - a chilly 47 degrees, rainy, and breezy - but she didn't care. She got to bring her little brother and show him off to her schoolmates, and even to her kindergarten teacher. Maddie was beside herself with joy.
Oliver was a ham, as usual.
Oliver didn't participate as much as Maddie did, but he seemed to have fun anyway. I mean, who doesn't like to have cotton candy for lunch, right?
And pet rabbits! And sheep! And chickens! I insisted that they use alcohol hand sanitizer before and after the petting zoo, and thankfully, we had no gastrointestinal illnesses last night.
And by the way, Nana - your grandson now would like you to buy three chickens to keep at your house. He prefers a red one, a blue one, and an orange one. Good luck with that.

I'll have to find my chicken catalog first and see if they have red and blue and orange ones.
